Frequently asked questions

How much can I boost the volume?

You can boost from 100% (original) up to 500% (5× louder). We recommend staying under 200% to avoid distortion.

What does 'Warning: may clip' mean?

Clipping happens when the boosted signal exceeds the maximum level, causing distortion. It's most noticeable on already-loud tracks. Try a lower boost if you hear crackling.

Does boosting change the file format?

No. The output keeps the same format as the input — boost an MP3, get an MP3 back.

Can I preview the volume before processing?

Yes. Click Play to hear the audio at the selected volume level in real time using your browser's audio engine.

Is my file uploaded to a server?

No. Everything is processed locally using FFmpeg.wasm. Your audio never leaves your device.
